I have lots of new tech suits to review!

Back in 2018 I was churning out tech suit reviews at a weekly rate. More recently I could almost be said to be taking a break. In reality there just is not that many new suits coming out for me to talk about which is why I have moved into making other types of content such as my live shows and vlogs!

More recently I have come into possession of a staggering SEVEN new suits to bring you reviews on!!! It is exciting times indeed and while right now I have only tried 2 of them 7 suits, I wanted to bring you a preview. Also remember if you do what to purchase any new tech suits and support me, SwimOutlet should be your go to!

So what new suits can you be expecting reviews of?

arena Japan/Descente

Arena Aquaforce X Packaging

Today I got a little package from Japan which included two models of Asia only arena suits, the Aquaforce X Motion Free & Control Position! These suits are branded arena but instead of being designed in Italy and using carbon fibre, they are designed in Japan by sports brand Descente. Starting with the MF and this is a suit that you will have seen on the likes of Daiya Seto and Siobhan Haughey on their world record swims. It is a suit that prides itself in being light weight and offering great freedom of movement.

"By structuring the front panel with no seam, it allows the material to fully stretch while swimming and also makes it lighter. A weight of 88 g/m and just 0.2mm thick!"

Then there is the CP suit. This one has hamstring taping like I love with the Mizuno's but in a rather interesting Y shape, instead of X or II! It is also the most rigid taping I have ever seen being made of polyurethane. The suits is made up of two materials, one of which is the same Aquaforce film of the MF.

Mad Wave

Based in Finland, Mad Wave are a company that I have been aware of for years but outside of a silicone cap and some paddles, I have never tried their products. Luckily I have now been able to get their entire range of tech suits. From the entry level "Revolution" through the middle of the pack "Bodyshell" all the way to the flagship "Forceshell". All three of the models seem very well priced for what they offer and the Bodyshell is really impressing me with its value. It has high quality, papery, water repellent fabric along with stitched seams. At just £80 that seems like absolute win and I swam my fastest 50 free in years on my first try of this suit. The Forceshell has all the bells and whistles while still being affordable compared to the big name brands and the Revolution has bold aesthetics paired with great comfort which seems to make sense for a first race suit!

Blue70

Back in 2009 my favourite suit was the Blue70 Nero. It was the most easily obtainable of all the plastic body suits and extremely popular among all ages and levels of swimmers, leading to massive PBs for me and many others. In 2010 I actually continued using Blue70 and actually had an informal sponsorship which led to me and my sister using and loving the Nero TX. 13 years and lots of models later but this year Blue70 have gone back to the Nero TX naming scheme to release the TX2. It seems to share a lot of the same DNA as suits I have previously worn from Engine and Finis. I am sure it will be a solid all-rounder and the women's designs are certainly fun!

Finis

Lastly I have got hands on with the new Finish HydroX. This is a suit that has been worn by the likes of Dan Wiffen and James Guy for some super fast swims and has been really blown up by Finis, who are calling it the best suit ever made. While I don't believe there are such absolutes, especially for all athletes, I am sure some swimmers will be a fan of this suit. My main takeaway so far is how comfortable the suit is while still holding me in place. This is made possible by Memory Flex fabric that basically expands with your muscles but no more meaning compression will be optimal and not obstructive. Seems fancy and I wouldn't be able to say exactly if it works but if it does it makes sense to be a very good thing. They have also treated every yarn individually for water repellency instead of just the finished product. I swam a 2 second 100 Breast PB wearing this suit!
