Top 5 Swimming Products to Import From Japan

Japan make the best swimming gear. They are seemingly always one step ahead of the rest of the world in almost all areas, most notably in making the fastest tech suits. Last summer I was fortunate enough to visit Japan and realised I had previously only scratched the surface of what the country has to offer swimmers.

Everything in Japan is also of amazing value. Take a flagship tech suit in the UK, you are looking at around £300, maybe more. In Japan, the best suits are circa £180. Almost half the price! Today I am going to walk you through the 5 products you just have to buy from Japan to enhance your swimming.

Before you ask how you can import items from Japan, I have more good news! My channel sponsor, Buyee, is the best dropshipping service out there. If you sign up with my link, you will save 10% off your first purchase. Making everything in my Top 5 even CHEAPER!!!

5) Speedo LZR Pure Glint

I only recently found out that not only do Mizuno and arena have some great suits in Japan, but so do Speedo. I was so excited I pre-ordered their latest flagship, the Pure Glint. It has a lot of similarities to the Pure Valor but with a different cut, a bigger logo and more internal thigh taping. While it is not the best fastskin on this list by a far cry, it is the cheapest flagship coming in under 30,000 Japanese Yen (£150) and that is enough of a reason for me to recommend it.

4) arena Mesh Caps

This may seem like a gimmicky addition to the list but trust me, it's not. Since I visited Japan I have used a mesh cap every day in training and wear one under my race cap during every meet. Paired with the fact they are less than £5 it seems like a no-brainer to not just import one but a whole handful of these awesome caps.

3) Mizuno MX Sonic a2

This tech suit is an embodiment of everything that Japan offers. It is a superb budget tech suit that is well under £100. It is a suit that can fit so many roles. A suit for meets where you have a busy schedule. A beater suit for in-season racing. A suit to use in training. A first foray into tech suits. Whatever your needs, when you're paying £70 for a tech suit and it's actually fast, you can't go too wrong.

2) arena Aquaforce Storm CP + MF

arena Japan's latest flagship line of suits is the Aquaforce Strom. Featuring the CP (Control Position) for Sprinters and MF (Motion Free) for everyone else, these are two great suits and ones that can happily replace whatever you're currently wearing in a way you will never look back. I prefer the CP as an out-and-out sprinter but the MF is my most used suit in the last year due to how quickly I can get it on during training.

1) Mizuno GX Sonic VI NV

This is the fastest suit in the world. It might not be very versatile but if you want a suit to make you faster then this is it. If you race the 50s and the odd 100, you owe it to yourself to import this suit ASAP!

I should add I am a massive fan of the rest of the Mizuno GX Sonic VI lineup and if you are not a sprinter you should import the CR, perhaps the most loveable suit I have ever tried.

What are you waiting for....

TheSwimsuitGuy was founded upon how much I loved the Mizuno GX Sonic III ST. I was so impressed by that tech suit that I had to spread the word and create a YouTube channel to review the suit on. I get asked daily "Where can I buy Mizunos" and the answer is simply Buyee. They have made the process of buying Mizunos (and everything else from Japan) simpler and cheaper than ever before.

They have a huge range of stores to purchase from including Mizuno themselves and Yahoo Auction (snap up some bargains). Once you have made a purchase it is shipped to the Buyee warehouse where it can be stored for up to a month. You then get it shipped to you. You can consolidate multiple packages to make shipping much cheaper. My last order combined 10 different orders I had made from different Yahoo Auction sellers. Once it has left the Buyee warehouse you will have received the parcel by the end of the week!
